Sawmill Golf Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Stillwater, Minnesota.
Sawmill Golf Club first opened for play in 1984. The course was designed by Dan Pohl, John McCarthy, and Pat Rooney.
Encompassing 18 holes of championship golf interwoven with the natural beauty of the St. Croix River Valley, Sawmill Golf Club provides a thoroughly enjoyable golfing experience. Rolling hills, ponds, tree-lined fairways, and an abundance of wildlife will contribute to the enjoyment of your golfing experience.
From the black tees, Sawmill is a championship par 70 golf course. It challenges the golfer to be accurate in both distance and direction. From the blue, white, and red tees the distance gets shorter but the same strategic challenge awaits the golfer.
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees the course plays to 6237 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4926 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 7, a par-5 that plays to 588 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 16, a par-3 that plays to 140 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 7, the 588 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Sawmill Golf Club is # 16, the 140 yard par-3.

A good average course. A great value for the price. The course had alot of variety and the greens had more break than I thought they did.

This is one of the best golf values in the area. Not long, but fun and challenging.
Among the highlights of the course are:
#2, a par-4, 292 yard (from the middle tees)hole with bunkers strategically placed in the middle of the fairway landing area and hardly any place to find a level lie in the fairway.
#4, a 164 yard par 3 is the gem of the course, an elevated tee shot (about 40 feet) over a pond to a large, sloping green. The view by itself is worth the greens fee.
#12 is a dogleg left 288 yard par 4 that will eat your lunch. An enormous cottonwwod tree keeps long hitters from going for the green, and a waste area runs almost the entire left side of the fairway. Lay up at about 100 yards and you'll have a shot at birdie. An aggressive tee shot often results in bogey.
#16 is a 120 yards par with a firm, elevated green. Hold the green for a chance at birdie. Bounce off and you're looking at bogey.
#18 is 359 yard par 4 that challenges with a split fairway. Trust me, go for the right fairway, which looks down at the green. Everything slopes to the left, so your approach shot should favor the right side of the green. Hit the hill on the right side and you can bounce down to the green. A good putt and you end your round with a birdie.
